Dancing – a way to joy, health and... celebration!

We have plenty of opportunities to dance. We dance at home while cleaning, on the club dance floor, at fitness classes, and sometimes... for no reason at all! But today we have an official occasion to celebrate, because today is the day International Dance Day! Where did dance actually come from and why is it worth letting yourself be carried away by the rhythm?

Dance in the past and today

Dance has accompanied humanity since the dawn of time. References to it appear in the Bible, and in ancient China it was part of magical rituals. In Greek and Indian cultures, it played an important social and religious role.

Today, dance serves many different purposes—it's a form of therapy, entertainment, and expression, but also a form of professional work. Moreover, it's considered one of the most effective and enjoyable forms of physical activity. There are no limits to dance—age, appearance, or gender don't matter. What matters is movement, emotion, and freedom.
